My background

As an occupational therapist and health and social psychologist, I am active in the academic world. As a postdoctoral researcher, I wrote a doctoral thesis on the relationship between cognition and driving in youth with and without autism. I broadened my focus from behavioral explanation to behavioral change, working on topics such as driving simulation, gamification, nudging, active transportation, and stress. For 11 years, I shared my expertise as a lecturer at the University of Hasselt in the field of Mobility Sciences. In 2022, I chose to return to the basics of psychology and now combine my role as a postdoctoral researcher with my position at Faresa.

My approach

Within Faresa, I take on the role of Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), responsible for the company's Research & Development, with a focus on blended care, particularly in the context of depression. Additionally, I play a coordinating role within the diagnostic team, serving as the primary point of contact. I find the combination of practice and research personally meaningful and fulfilling.

In my free time, I really enjoy spending time with my family and relatives. I also love indulging in good food, dancing, and music. Learning to play a musical instrument is a goal that I hope to achieve someday..
